With the ever-increasing magnitude and landscape of cyber attacks, the need for increasingly stronger cyber security practices is being felt almost in every sphere of connected life. The banking and financial sector is no exception. Rather, lucrative financial gains attract cyber criminals to relentlessly attack financial institutions, technology service providers, and the associated communication infrastructure. Of course, there are other motivational factors too. Moreover, cyber-attacks as well as related security technologies are continuously evolving and the respective stakeholders (i.e., both attackers and defenders) are constantly working and reworking their strategies and counter strategies to stay ahead.
This special issue of the Journal of Banking and Financial Technology focuses on original research and practice-driven applications with a direct relevance to cyber security. This Special Issue on Cyber Security aims to highlight the latest challenges in cyber security as well as the promising and/or state-of-the-art defense mechanisms by bringing together cutting-edge work of the vibrant scientific and research community and industry professionals.
This Special Issue on Cyber Security solicits original and high quality articles in the area of Cyber Security. Good review articles covering the state-of-the-art methods on any related topic is also welcome. The scope of this special issue includes, but is not limited to, the following:
