Brazilian Journal of Microbiology - Biotechnology and Industry Section: minimum requirements to be considered for publication

Submissions not compliant with the requirements below will be rejected before peer review.

These requirements might be updated at any time, so please always check them out before your submission.

1. Submissions must present clear objectives and highlight at least 3 points indicating the novelty of the study.

2. The focus of the submission should be on the microorganism, not on a specific molecule produced or expressed by it. The focus on the molecule is only acceptable if it makes the microorganism special. Cases where the microorganism is just the host will not be considered for publication.

3. Methodology: submissions must present a relevant number of samples, adequate experimental controls, and robust statistical analysis that justify the conclusions.

4. Carbohydrate studies should be accompanied by chromatography.

5. Enzymology: submissions must present updated methodology and precisely define the enzymatic units. Control/witness is required in all experiments and a well-defined experimental design.
