Aims and scope

Waste Disposal & Sustainable Energy (WDSE) is an international multi-disciplinary journal focusing on low-carbon waste disposal/treatment and sustainable energy utilization. WDSE publishes high-quality original research papers, review papers, perspectives, and short communications. It provides a platform not only for basic research but also for industrial interests. It broadly encompassed various waste disposal and sustainable energy sources related topics. It emphasizes the application of waste disposal and sustainable energy technology to environmental and earth issues. Subject areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Low-carbon and sustainable technologies for waste disposal/treatment
  • Sustainable technologies for pollution control
  • Invention of instrumentation and new methods for waste characterization and treatment
  • Environmental impacts of waste and waste disposal/treatment
  • Sustainable energy utilization, energy conversion and energy recovery
  • State-of-art waste-to-energy technologies, e.g., incineration, gasification, pyrolysis
  • Analysis and optimization of energy processes
  • Treatment and utilization of combustion/incineration residue
  • Climate change mitigation and carbon neutrality technologies
  • Local, regional and international case studies of waste disposal and sustainable energy
  • Governance, legislation, and policy for waste disposal and sustainable energy
