Call for papers: Special Issue on Advanced Fiber Materials for Wearable and Functional Optical Fiber Devices

Wearable devices with different functions are changing the way people live. Optical fibers made of different materials are attracting intensive research interests due to their inherent wearable ability. With various perceptual abilities, compact size and great immunity to electromagnetic interferences, wearable and functional optical fiber devices already have great application potential in many fields such as intelligence-sensing, human-machine interface and health monitoring. This special issue will be a collection of 10-15 peer-reviewed contributions that present original breakthrough research, comprehensive reviews, perspectives or highlights to advance the frontier of wearable and functional optical fiber devices. This special issue is expected to push forward the field in terms of both fundamental fiber/textile science and related practical engineering problems.

Contributed articles are sought in the following areas (not limited):

Novel optical fibers and their fabrication, characterization and applications in sensing.3D printing of optical fibers for wearable applications.Optical fiber-related sensors for intelligence-sensing, human-machine interface, health monitoring, etc.Fiber modification and advanced manufacturing.Multifunctional fiber optics and electronic composite structures, materials and applications.Fiber optofluidic lasers for biochemical sensing.
