Aim & Scope

Experimental and Computational Multiphase Flow (ECMF) is a peer-reviewed international academic journal that publishes original high-quality research papers and significant review articles on the transport phenomena of mass, momentum and heat in multiphase flows from theoretical, experimental and computational perspectives. The journal publishes scholarly research papers, invited review articles, brief communications, letters and comments on previously published papers.

The scope embraces theoretical, experimental and computational investigations of the aspects related but not limited to the following areas:

  • Interface interaction
  • Multiphase vortex dynamics
  • Heat transfers
  • Phase changes
  • Multiphase flow regimes
  • Reacting flows
  • Multiphase turbulence mechanisms
  • Multiphase flow dynamics
  • Particle behaviors and interactionsŸ
  • Disperse dynamics
  • Flow instability
  • Multiphase flow visualization
  • Gas-liquid/particle flows
  • Porous media
  • Granular flows
  • Computational methods and modeling
  • Measurement techniques
  • Data processing methods
  • Nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics
  • Multiphase flow instability
  • Subcooled nucleate boiling
  • Critical heat flux
  • Two-phase flow excursion

The fields of application include nuclear, chemical, petroleum, environmental, mineral, pharmaceutical, bio-mechanical, mechanical engineering, and so on.

Readership: Research scientists at universities and research institutions, engineers from industry and the fields of application, graduate students and upper-level undergraduates.
