Lisa Strohschein

Lisa Strohschein is Professor of Sociology at the University of Alberta. As a life course researcher, she examines how family dynamics influence the health, development and well-being of children and adults. She has received awards for research and teaching, was named a Killam Professor (2019-20) and is internationally recognized for her work on the mental health effects of divorce and poverty. Some of her past and current roles include Associate Editor of Canadian Public Policy (2015-2021), Editorial Board Member for Journal of Marriage and Family (2005-2019), President of the Canadian Population Society (2019-2022), and member of the Statistics Canada Advisory Committee on Demographic Statistics and Studies (since 2014).
