Psychological Research - Psychological Research is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief for 2025

Psychological Research is seeking nominations for a new, incoming Editor-in-Chief, term beginning January 1 2025.

About the position: The journal is seeking an Editor-in-Chief for an initial term of four years. In brief, the EIC is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the fairness, thoroughness, and timeliness of the peer review process for submissions, as well as collaborating with the publisher on strategy and direction of the journal. The EIC will be an ambassador for the journal and will lead the journal’s editorial development. 

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Nominate, appoint, and secure the service of a diverse editorial board
  • Along with editorial board, manage peer review for submissions
  • Ensure the journal is run in alignment with research and integrity best practices
  • Work closely with the publisher 
  • Attend and/or host editorial board meetings, whether in person or virtual


Qualifications: Applicants for this position should have extensive experience in their particular fields, with a demonstrated track record of reviewing for and publishing in peer-reviewed journals in cognitive psychology and related disciplines. 

About the journal: Psychological Research/Psychologische Forschung publishes articles that contribute to a basic understanding of human perception, attention, memory, and action. The Journal is devoted to the dissemination of knowledge based on firm experimental ground, but not to particular approaches or schools of thought. Theoretical and historical papers are welcome to the extent that they serve this general purpose; papers of an applied nature are acceptable if they contribute to basic understanding or serve to bridge the often felt gap between basic and applied research in the field covered by the Journal.
