Berichte aus Geschichts‐ und Politikwissenschaft

Publishing model:

Aims and scope

Neue Politische Literatur – Berichte aus Geschichts‐ und Politikwissenschaft (“New Political Literature”) publishes research on German, European and non-European history of modernity (19th to 20th century) as well as on theory-based and history-oriented political sciences. Particular attention is paid to power and domination, forms of inequality, and authoritarian or dictatorial regimes.

NPL deals with questions of democracy in the past, present and future and identifies established and emerging fields of research. By publishing review essays of central works as well as individual reviews of current literature, the journal reflects the diversity of research and facilitates researchers’ orientation in the wealth of new academic publications. It furthermore contributes to quality assurance in academia.

The quality of the journal is guaranteed by actively soliciting contributions from distinguished authors, by peer reviewing individual research papers and by intensive editorial supervision of the articles.
