Quantum Machine Intelligence - Call for Papers: Quantum Artificial Intelligence 2023

Guest Editors:
Giovanni Acampora (University of Naples Federico II, Italy)
Autilia Vitiello (University of Naples Federico II, Italy)

QAI 2023 is the first workshop in the hybrid area of quantum computing and artificial intelligence and it aims to bring together scientists from both areas to lay the groundwork for defining theories, methodologies and applications of quantum artificial intelligence. The workshop was intended to be a brainstorming session in which computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists and engineers interacted to clarify and develop new ideas about quantum intelligent machines. Thinking about new neural models based on quantum phenomena, designing new optimization schemes that can exploit the inherent parallelism of quantum computation, introducing reasoning methodologies based on quantum algorithms that can emulate human thinking are some of the activities developed during the workshop.. The discussions and presentations given during the workshop explored the above topics in depth and enabled participants to improve their skills in this pioneering field of research. Like the famous 1956 Darthmouth workshop, the 2023 Naples workshop broke new ground in computer science research and defined entirely new paths for the design and implementation of efficient quantum algorithms for artificial intelligence. This topical collection collects the the best original results discussed at the workshop in the different areas of the integration between artificial intelligence and quantum computing.

Submission deadline: December 31, 2023
