Topical Collection: Earth & Environmental Sciences - Forest Resilience, Society and Development: Application of Geospatial Technology
This TC encourages submission of manuscripts focused on the mapping, monitoring, modeling and management of forest resources for sustainable society and improved livelihoods. We welcome original research papers/ review papers that aim to enhance the geospatial knowledge of the scientific community but also provide valuable information on the spatial modeling in forest resources issues, societal development and forest landscape restoration, sustainable management.
The topics relevant to the Special Issue include (but are not limited to) the following topics:
Application of geoinformatics for forest resources assessment, monitoring, and modeling: Forest health, net primary productivity, chlorophyll content, Wood density and wood volume estimation, biomass and carbon stock, deforestation, Dynamic vegetation models, climate change modeling, Vulnerability mangrove forests, Habitats suitability and species diversity modeling, Urban forest landscape restoration, ecosystem services, Forest landscape restoration and land sparing and sharing, timber and non-timber forest products in socio-economic activities and poverty reduction, Community based forest management and joint forest management, Traditional ecological knowledge and rural landscape, Linking forest resources, conservation and food security through agro-forestry, and GIS based Integrated decision making in forest landscape restoration and conservation.
