Environmental Sustainability - Special Issue (June 2023) Title: Plant growth-promoting microorganisms in the New Era: from Ecology to Biotechnology in America

This Special Issue is about the art in the soil-plant-microorganism communication, and the use of plant growth-promoting microorganisms for the industrial agricultural production and health of agricultural ecosystems, with a focus on the research done in Latin America.

 Manuscripts will be reviewed by experts and chosen following the maximum high standards from a scientific and writing point of view. The special issue also will include a review of the general knowledge in the art of the plant growth-promoting microorganisms in Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting will be held in virtual mode, (headquarters in Uruguay) from 4th to 8th October 2021.

About the Special Issue

The molecular phylogenetic and physiological surveys have revealed a vast array of plant growth-promoting microorganisms (PGPM) with many functions in the agro-ecosystems, with the main role of regulators of ecosystem processes. In this scenario, Latin America has been considered as a source of PGPM, and the use of bio-fertilizers has become a regular practice to improve crop production.

Articles will undergo all of the journal's standard peer review and editorial processes outlined in its submission guidelines (this opens in a new tab)

Editorial Procedure: Double-blind peer review

This journal follows a double-blind reviewing procedure. This means that the author will remain anonymous to the reviewers throughout peer review. It is the responsibility of the author to anonymize the manuscript and any associated materials.

Author names, affiliations and any other potentially identifying information should be removed from the manuscript text and any accompanying files (such as figures of supplementary material);

A separate Title Page should be submitted, containing title, author names, affiliations, and the contact information of the corresponding author. Any acknowledgements, disclosures, or funding information should also be included on this page.

Authors should avoid citing their own work in a way that could reveal their identity.

For Special Issues, the manuscripts are handled by Guest Editors. EiC transfers the manuscripts to GE after initial check. The GE gets the manuscript reviewed through a Double-blind peer review system.

After review and the revision process the GE gives his/her Recommendation for the manuscript. However, the final decision to accept or reject the manuscript is with the EiC.
