China Population and Development Studies - Call for Papers: Special Issue on Low Fertility and Population Aging in Asian Countries
Overview
The demographic landscape of Asia is rapidly evolving, characterized by significant shifts toward lower fertility rates and a substantial increase in the aging population. These changes pose unique challenges and opportunities for policy, economic stability, and social structures across the region. China Population and Development Studies (CPDS) invites submissions for a special issue titled "Low Fertility and Population Aging in Asian Countries." This issue aims to explore the multifaceted impacts of these demographic trends and to promote a deeper understanding of their implications for the future of Asia.
Themes for Submission
We welcome original research papers, reviews, case studies, and policy analysis papers that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:
- Economic consequences of aging populations in Asian contexts.
- Social and healthcare systems' adaptability to aging demographics.
- Cultural perspectives on fertility and aging.
- Technological innovations addressing the needs of an aging population.
- Comparative studies of fertility trends among Asian countries.
- Policy responses to low fertility rates and their effectiveness.
- The role of international migration in mitigating demographic challenges.
- Gender perspectives on aging and fertility.
- Long-term development for aging and fertility trends in Asia.
Submission Guidelines
- All submissions must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal.
- Articles should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and footnotes.
- Submissions must adhere to the journal's formatting and style guidelines, available on our website(Home | China Population and Development Studies (springer.com).
