Chemistry Africa - Special Issue

Sustainable Future of Polymers

The wide spread utilisation of polymers and plastics has contributed enormously in growth of industry and upliftment of social facility and status during past 100 Years completion of macromolecular theory. However, the uncontrolled use of polymers has also yielded huge serious environmental issues in form of microplastic, water and air pollutions. Therefore, at the beginning of second century, it is important to design and rationalise the priority and properties of polymers for sustainable use.
In this context, the International Journal “Chemistry Africa” invites original and review contributions for publication in the special issue dedicated to special issue for celebration the start of the second century of macromolecular science entitled “Sustainable Future of Polymers”. Publication should be original, unpublished full-length research paper, review or short communication on the need of polymers and polymer chemistry in their second century for sustainable growth and environmental safety.
The proposed main topics are but not limited to:

  • Synthetic methods
  • Functionality and novel properties
  • Sustainability in polymers
  • Polymer derived materials
  • Microplastic-free polymer
  • Biopolymers and Bioplastics
  • Monomers and polymers from plants and biomass
  • Polymers and environments
  • Polymers in food sector
  • Polymers in strategic applications
  • Sustainable polymer chemistry education

Submission deadline : 30 June 2022
