Environmental health assessment plays a pivotal role in identifying and understanding the impacts of environmental factors on communities. The integration of RS and GIS provides a powerful toolbox for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the intricate interplay between environmental parameters and human health. By leveraging the spatial capabilities of GIS and the remote sensing technologies that capture information from a distance, this special issue aims to highlight innovative methodologies and applications that contribute to the advancement of environmental health studies. This special issue covers a broad spectrum of topics, including but not limited to disease mapping, air and water quality monitoring, vector-borne disease surveillance, urban health studies, climate change and health impacts, and health risk assessment. The goal is to present a diverse array of research endeavors that demonstrate the versatility of RS and GIS in addressing various aspects of environmental health. The primary aim of this special issue is to showcase and disseminate cutting-edge research on the integration of Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for advancing environmental health assessments.
