Scope of this special issue

Papers in all areas of synthesis, design, manufacturing and characterization of Nanomaterials for Advanced Engineering Applications will be considered, including but not limited to:

  • Design and fabrication of nanostructures or nanomaterials for enhanced mechanical/chemical/physical properties 
  • Synthesis of nanomaterials for surface interactions and/or tribological applications
  • Novel design and fabrication of thin films and coatings for functional surfaces 
  • Design and manufacturing of soft materials for bio/medical applications 
  • Advanced materials and surface characterization techniques for nanomaterials development 
  • Electrical and magnetic properties of nanomaterials 
  • Nanomaterials design and manufacturing through AI application 
  • Quantum mechanics or atomic-scale modeling and simulations of new nanomaterials to enhance material properties and system performance 
  • Nanostructures and nanomaterials for applications in energy conversion and storage 
  • Self-assembled nanostructures 
  • Original research papers, review articles and short communications are all welcome
