Scope of this special issue Papers in all areas of additive manufacturing, particularly the fabrication mechanisms in micro/nanoscales and their association with the product properties will be considered, including but not limited to:

  • The formation of microstructures and their mechanical properties in additive manufacturing
  • Additive manufacturing of micro/nano-coating, micro/nano-patterning, micro/nano-texturing, etc.
  • Micro/nano-scale analysis of 3D printed composites
  • Theoretical modelling and numerical simulation of additive manufacturing process in micro/nanoscales.
  • Hybrid additive manufacturing methods, e.g., additive manufacturing process assisted  with ultrasonic, electromagnetic filed, and heating field, etc.
  • Additive manufacturing of new materials for biomedical engineering and tissue engineering
