A Publication of the Association for Educational Communications & Technology

Publishing model:

Overview

Journal of Formative Design in Learning is a scholarly source focused on the exploration of formative design in teaching and learning, which we define as the deliberate and iterative process of creating educational experiences that are continuously shaped and improved by feedback and evidence gathered during the design and implementation stages.

  • Promotes the integration of theory and practice.
  • Publishes original research-based design and development papers with a focus on impact on practice.
  • Offers authors a formative peer-review process designed to guide less experienced scholars through the submission, review, and publication process.
  • Encourages and nurtures the development of reflective practitioners in the learning sciences.
  • An official journal of the Association for Educational Communications & Technology (AECT).
