Process Integration and Optimization for Sustainability - Meet the Editors

Prof. Dominic C. Y. Foo
Dominic C. Y. Foo is a Professor of Process Design and Integration at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, and is the Founding Director for the Centre of Excellence for Green Technologies.  He is the President for the Asia Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCChE), a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), a Fellow of the Academy of Science Malaysia, a Chartered Engineer with the UK Engineering Council, a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineer Malaysia.  Apart from being the Editor-in-Chief for Process Integration and Optimization for Sustainability, he also serves as Subject Editor for Process Safety & Environmental Protection, and editorial board members for several other renowned journals.  He is the winner of the Innovator of the Year Award 2009 of IChemE, Young Engineer Award 2010, Outstanding Young Malaysian Award 2012, Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer 2013 and Top Research Scientist Malaysia 2016.  He has authored two books and edited several other books.

Prof. Raymond R. Tan
Raymond R. Tan is a Professor of Chemical Engineering and University Fellow of De La Salle University and an Academician of the Philippine National Academy of Science and Technology. Based on Google Scholar citations, Prof. Tan ranks among the top researchers in the world in the subject areas of process integration and process systems engineering. He received his BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering and PhD in mechanical engineering from De La Salle University. He is also subject editor of Sustainable Production and Consumption and an editorial board member of Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy. He is coauthor of the books Process Integration Approaches to Planning Carbon Management Networks and Input-Output Models for Sustainable Industrial Systems, and co-editor of the books Recent Advances in Sustainable Process Design and Optimization and Process Design Strategies for Biomass Conversion Systems. He has received multiple scientific awards from government and professional organizations in the Philippines.

Prof. Santanu Bandyopadhyay
Santanu Bandyopadhyay is a Professor, Department of Energy Science and Engineering, at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). He is a fellow of the Indian National Association of Engineering (INAE). He obtained his B.Tech. (Hons.) in Energy Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, and M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Energy Systems Engineering from IIT Bombay. His research interest includes Process integration, Pinch Analysis, Industrial energy conservation, Modelling and simulation of energy systems, Design and optimization of renewable energy systems, etc. Since 1994, Prof. Bandyopadhyay has been associated with and contributed towards various developmental, industrial, and research activities involving different structured approaches to process synthesis, energy integration and conservation as well as renewable energy systems design. Prior to joining IIT Bombay, he worked for M/s Engineers India Limited, New Delhi. He is also Associate Editor for other journals including Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy, and Journal of Cleaner Production.
