Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration - Call for Paper

Enhancing Water Efficiency, Transition, and Innovative Water Sources

Water is, and will always remain, the foundation of life. Both today and in the future, it will stand as a decisive factor for socio-economic development and spatial planning.

Indeed, all countries are facing an increasing confrontation with the ever-growing demand for water, the scarcity and degradation of water resources, and the impacts of climate change.

Alongside the escalating demands for water from the industrial, agricultural, and tourism sectors, approximately 2.2 billion people worldwide lack access to drinking water within their homes.

In response to this challenging situation, the United Nations has granted top priority to water within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030.

Specifically, this emphasis is reflected in Goal No. 6 of the SDGs: "Ensuring access to water and sanitation for all, and ensuring sustainable management of water resources."

This special issue compiles the finest papers selected by the Scientific Committee of the International Water Conference, covering a range of themes including:

•    The context and global water issues.
•    The utilization of non-conventional water sources.
•    Enhancing water efficiency and facilitating transitions.
•    Research, development, and innovation (RDI) projects in the field of water.
