Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration - Call for Paper

Mediterranean Countries: Main Environmental Issues & Concerns

The Mediterranean has been subject to moving human settlement and land use patterns for millennia, and has a history of human exploitation in an inherently unstable landscape. Environmental Issues in the Mediterranean are dealing both physical and social aspects of this region, in relation to its environment.

The special issue aims to collect research that are running in the entire Mediterranean Region as the countries around Med they face similar issues such as geological and water scarcity, climate changes, soil erosions, waste management, coastal corrosions, etc. It is very important to find out with this special issue how the European Mediterranean Countries will be affected from the non-European (and vice-versa) considering the circular economy strategy, the European Green deal, waste management, the energy nexus etc.

This special issue will collect papers that were presented in CEMEPE2021 conference as well as from other Mediterranean Regions (even they didn't participated in the conference) and highlighted within an important and relevant issues. The special issue that will remain open until April 2022.

Highlights:

The Special Issue aims at presenting high-quality research studies on the Mediterranean region (from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea and their direct neighbors) and to cover the following topics (but not limited to):

  • The impact of European Green Deal
  • Circular Economy Strategy
  • Sustainable Development Goals
  • Research on Wastewaters
  • Recent research related with pharmaceutical in water and waste waters
