Nanotechnology for Environmental Engineering - Call for Papers

Promising Technologies for Achieving the Sustainability of Water Environment

Water environment including surface water and groundwater contaminated by hazardous pollutants such as petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated organics, and heavy metals has become a serious problem worldwide because the pollutants cause the potential threat to water resources and human health. Additionally, soil and sediment contamination may also affect the quality of water environment. To combat water pollution by hazardous substances, more efficient and cost-effective technologies are required. Technology development either for the treatment of wastewater to prevent water pollution or for the recovery of polluted water, sediment, and soil are important and needed. In this special issue, researchers who devote to develop promising technologies including nanotechnologies and chemical technologies are welcome to share their works to help achieve the sustainability of water resources. This special issue cordially solicits papers in, but not limited to, the following areas of the latest scientific findings, effective approaches, and state-of-the-art strategies on water and wastewater treatment, and remediation of contaminated water, groundwater, soil, and sediments:

Nanotechnologies and chemical technologies for water and wastewater treatmentNanotechnologies and chemical technologies for soil, sediment, and groundwater remediationIntegrated technologies to combat surface water and subsurface pollutionHealth and risk assessment for the developed technologiesEmergent contaminant removalOther hazardous pollutant removal technologies related issuesCase studies
