International Journal of Data Science and Analytics - Call for Papers: Special Issue on Statistics for Data Science and AI
Aims
The development of statistical methods for data science is gaining more and more interest, not only for statisticians but also for computer scientists, computational mathematicians and physicists. The contamination among different scientific communities is becoming paramount to develop methodologies and approaches that can be beneficial to the advancement of data science methods. In particular, statistical methods can greatly contribute to make accurate, explainable, robust and fair (“trustworthy”) the most performing ML and AI algorithm. We hereby call for papers treating themes related to the modelling and analysis of complex data (structured, non-structured, mixed) , using machine learning models, and at papers that propose novel approaches to measure the trustworthiness of such models, particularly in real applications. We encourage the submission of papers proposing cross-field methodologies which emphasize the multi-disciplinary trait.
Topics
The following topics are considered of particular relevance:
- data analytics, pattern recognition, knowledge discovery, machine learning, deep analytics and deep learning, intelligent processing of various data (including transaction, text, image, video, graph and network), behaviors and systems;
- statistical and mathematical foundations for data science and analytics;
- data science applications, business, governmental, cultural, behavioral, social and economic, health and medical, human, natural and artificial (including online/Web, cloud, IoT, mobile and social media) domains.
Submissions
Submissions must be original, not published and not currently under review. Submissions should include a contribution statement on their significant and original contributions in the context of the state-of-the-art progress. Journal versions of previously published conference papers must include substantially new content.
Papers should be formatted in the JDSA template. There is no page limitation. Please follow the author’s instructions of JDSA at the journal website https://www.springer.com/journal/41060/submission-guidelines?IFA in preparing your papers.
Important dates
This special issue will open to submissions on 01 May, 2023. The submission deadline is 30 October, 2023. Submissions will be reviewed when they appear in the editorial system.
