Editors of the Special Issue:

Andreas Pfnür (Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany)

Extended Submission Deadline: February 15, 2022

Subject of the Special Issue:

The economy and working environments are currently changing rapidly. In order to remain competitive in the face of structural change, companies and regions must also massively advance the transformation of the real estate economy. The speed of transformation in real estate resources is currently still too slow in both research and practice. This Call for Papers seeks contributions that views real estate primarily from the perspective of the user. In essence, but not exclusively, these are likely to be problems from the fields of Corporate Real Estate or Workplace Research, e.g.:

Co-Working, Work from Home and Workplace: Where and under what conditions will we work in the future? How does the physical work place influence satisfaction, well-being and productivity?Project (Re)Development, Innovative Services and Financing of CRE or Space as a Service: How will the space be provided for companies in the future?ESG, certification systems, technical, environmental, economic and social innovations: How can companies' real estate become more sustainable?Aligning Company`s and CREM Strategy, Organizing CRE, Value Management in CRE, Purchaser-Provider Split: How can CRE become more effective?Regional Economics. Urban Planning, Land and Space Management: How can Changes in the Space Requirements of Companies in Urban and Regional Planning be Anticipated?

Both theoretical and quantitative or qualitative empirical papers are welcome. Because the ZIÖ pursues an interdisciplinary approach, researchers from any real estate related discipline are invited to submit relevant papers, in particular from the areas of Business Administration, Economics, Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Engineering, Psychology, Sociology, Computer Science, Mathematics and Medicine.
