Aims and scope

The Journal of Social and Economic Development provides a forum for in-depth analysis of social, economic, political/institutional, demographic and environmental transformation taking place in the developing countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America.

In addition to high quality contributions on economic modelling with a strong theoretical and conceptual foundation, the Journal discusses developmental issues that focus on inclusive growth, viable institutional structures and good governance. The journal also provides a platform for debate and discussion on policy matters.

The journal invites submission of papers in the above-mentioned subjects and topics as-

  • Original Research [up to 8000 words including references]
  • Review Papers [up to 6000 words including references]
  • Research Notes [up to 3000 words including references]
  • Brief Reports [up to 1500 words including references]
  • Book reviews [up to 1500 words]

The Journal follows a double-blind peer reviewing process, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process, i.e., neither author nor reviewer is aware of each other’s identities.
