Call for Papers for Special Issue “Frontiers in Biomechanics of Orthopedic and Dental Implants”

Special Issue Information

This Special Issue is devoted to showcasing the study of biomechanics in orthopedic and dental implants. The structural design of the implant is one of the critical issues affecting the success rate of orthopedic and dental implant surgery. The stress and strain distribution on the implant and surrounding bone also play an important role in this success. The in Vivo, in Vitro, and computer-aided engineering technology are often used by researchers to design efficient and effective orthopedic and dental implant replacements. Hence, this special Issue intends to provide the reader with an exciting overview of current research in the field of biomechanics in orthopedic and dental implants.

In particular, the topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Total joint replacement
  • Bone remodeling
  • Trauma
  • Fracture
  • Bone plate fixation
  • Dental implant
  • Orthodontic mini-screw
  • Orthodontic mini-implant
  • Marginal bone loss
  • Bone stress and strain
  • Fatigue
  • Finite element simulation
  • 3D motion capture
