Athanasios G. Konstandopoulos (PhD, MPhil, MScChE, Yale University; MScME Michigan Tech; Dipl. MEng. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Director and Founder, Aerosol & Particle Technology Laboratory, Chairman of the Board of CERTH and Professor of Chemical Engineering, Aristotle University, is a specialist in nanoparticle technologies, combustion aerosols, carbon-neutral solar fuels and structured reactors for catalytic emission control, sustainable mobility, clean energy, circular economy and biotech applications.

He is the recipient of the European Descartes Prize, the insignia of the Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour of the French Republic the European Research Council Advanced Grant, a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers, author of numerous widely cited publications and a former member of the Board of Governors of the European Commission’s Joint Research Center. 

He has coordinated and managed many research projects, funded by the European Commission and leading international industries and he is the author of numerous widely cited scientific publications, while his research has been frequently covered by international communication media.  A film depicting a day of his life is hosted permanently at the documentary exhibition "Daily Life", at the European Parliament Visitor’s Centre, “The Parlamentarium”, in Brussels, Belgium. When not researching in the lab, he enjoys playing the guitar in a blues-rock band and communicating his research on stage performing the science/music happening, “Blue Science Café ”.

Having pursued R&D in gasoline and Diesel emission reduction components and systems since 1990’s, Mansour Masoudi is an emission aftertreatment engineer with prior positions in R&D and engineering circles including Senior Product Engineer in emission control honeycomb development and applications in Corning Inc. and Delphi Automotive, in urea injection and NOx reduction systems at Robert Bosch as a Senior Engineer, and as a Manager, Advanced Powertrain Technologies at PACCAR Corporation. During his career, he has worked on various technologies including three-way catalysts, Diesel oxidation catalysts, Diesel particulate filters, urea and fuel injectors, urea mixers, system integration, including both testing and extensive modeling.  He is the founder of Emissol, an emission aftertreatment R&D firm and co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Emission Control Science and Technology.  Mansour holds a Master and a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, a Master in Management, and is active within various emission control forums and communities.
