Brain-Like Computing for Medical Applications
With the recent advancements in quantum computing, understanding the brain's computation will help researchers explore a new powerful computational concept. It will provide opportunities for developing medical applications by processing large volumes of images and text data. This special issue focuses on developing novel techniques utilizing brain-like computing and quantum computing approaches for medical applications. It emerges because of the recent advancements in quantum computing capabilities and the accessibility to big data from medical applications. This special issue will explore the current methods used in brain-like computing and provide a platform for researchers to develop innovative techniques using quantum computing.
The topics of interest for the special issue include, but not limited to the following:
• Brain-like computing fundamentals in health informatics
• Hardware architectures of brain-like computing in biomedical engineering
• Brain-like computing using quantum computers for robotics in medical applications
• Precision medicine with quantum computing
• Big data analysis and bioimaging using deep learning
• AI-assisted brain-like methodologies in biomedical applications
• Generative adversarial approaches in medical applications
• Medical decision support systems inspired by brain-like computing
• IoT assisted brain-like methods in medical applications
• Theories, models and learning tools of brain-like computing
• Quantum reinforcement learning in healthcare with brain-like computing

• Health informatics analytics using quantum computing
• Brain-like computing using quantum computers for electronic records management

• Submission of manuscript: February 15, 2021
• First notification: May 30, 2021
• Submission of revised manuscript: July 15, 2021
• Notification of the re-review: September 30, 2021
• Final notification: November 15, 2021
Submission
The special issue seeks submission of papers that present novel original results and findings on “Brain-Like Computing for Medical Applications”. Solicited original submissions must not be currently under consideration for publication in other venue.
