Journal of Bio- and Tribo-Corrosion - Call for Papers: Erosion-corrosion studies of materials: from metallic to composite structures

Authors are invited to submit to the journal’s latest collection on papers detailing research on the erosion corrosion interactions between various material types.

Erosion corrosion is often the cause of increased degradation of a material due to impact of free or loose particles on the material’s surface. Erosion corrosion is an impactful materials degradation process in a large number of materials science and engineering dependent industries and their strategic applications. The objectives of this collection are to:

1. Highlight the importance and relevance of the erosion corrosion degradation process. 
2. Compile an up to date collection of high-quality research works on this process. 
3. Delineate various mechanisms of interaction.
4. Identify the components subjected to such degradation. 
5. Project the direction of future research works on this topic.

This collection will be all encompassing for erosion corrosion interactions between materials, including but not limited to metallic materials, polymeric materials, ceramic materials, composite materials, and more. It is expected to address the erosion corrosion problems for strategic applications such as materials used in industries such as defense, nuclear energy production, vehicles/systems in space, etc. It will further address erosion corrosion in materials relevant to the energy sector in addition to other engineering sectors such as transport, petrochemical, steel, cement etc.

Please note, erosion corrosion of coatings or modified surfaces will not be considered for this collection.
