Aims and scope

Information Technology & Tourism (JITT) is the first interdisciplinary scientific journal focusing on the role of information technology in tourism, travel and hospitality. Digital systems and digital ecosystems have a transformative impact on these industries, while the industries themselves influence IT developments through their presence in the digital marketplace.

The journal presents and discusses advancements in tools, technologies, and methodologies that enhance the design and the deployment of digital systems in tourism, travel, and hospitality.

JITT aims to contribute to the development of theory and research in this increasingly important field. As an interdisciplinary journal, it supports both industry-oriented and academic research. JITT features empirical case studies and technical-theoretical papers that provide insights into tourism, travel and hospitality from an IT perspective, as well as exploring IT applications in these fields.

The journal publishes research papers, state-of-the-art reviewscase studies illustrating proof of concepts or industrial applications of innovative technologies, book reviews by experts in IT and tourism, viewpoints on emerging or critical topics, and brief reports with a concise description of new research or adding new data to previous ones.

All manuscripts are double-blind peer reviewed. To be published in JITT, a paper must make a substantive contribution to the understanding of the nature and role of IT within the tourism, travel and hospitality sectors.
