ChatGPT and Artificial Intelligence in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery 

Artificial intelligence is an ongoing important issue in medicine, surgery, and clinical research. The recent worldwide spread of ChatGPT, a chatbox using artificial intelligence, has highlighted the need to improve knowledge in this field. Chatbot may be used by patients to get information about diseases, and treatments, while it may help the physician in daily practice. Currently, few studies have been conducted in otolaryngology head and neck surgery to investigate the usefulness, reliability and indications of chatbox, such as ChatGPT. This special issue is dedicated to this important issue and authors are invited to submit basic science, or clinical studies of chatbox or artificial intelligence in otolaryngology head and neck surgery.

Jerome R. Lechien is a 35 yo Otolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgeron (MD, PhD, MS) from Belgium. He is Professor of Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery and chief of the laryngology and bronchoesophagology division of the EpiCURA Hospital and consultant in Foch Hospital (Paris) and CHU de Bruxelles (Brussels). He is specialized in Laryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, Rhinology, Voice and Reflux disease. He is member of the European Laryngological Society (ELS), the CEORL-HNS and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery. He is chairman of the research committee of Young Otolaryngologists of International Federation of Oto-Rhino-Laryngological Societies (YO IFOS).
