Journal of Comparative Physiology B - Celebrating 90 Years of Journal of Comparative Physiology B: 1924 - 2014
A Message from the Editor-in-Chief:
Dear Colleague,
The Journal of Comparative Physiology B Journal was founded in 1924 as “Zeitschrift für vergleichende Physiologie“ by Karl von Frisch (Nobel laureate 1973) and Alfred Kühn. In 1977 the Journal changed its name to Journal of Comparative Physiology and in 1984 it was split into two parts, JCPA covering neurobiology and JCPB covering metabolic physiology. Up to now 184 volumes with 7432 articles were published.
JCPB has always supported an integrative approach to animal physiology where all levels of organization are addressed, from animal behavior through molecules underlying this behavior. We continue this tradition to maintain JCPB as an attractive journal for high-quality papers and novel developments in comparative physiology.
Find out more about the history of JCP-B in the Editorial published in the January issue 2014 (Volume 184, Issue 1) and read articles which will tell you more about the journal’s aims and scope.
Yours sincerely,
Gerhard Heldmaier
