Author Contributions in Applied Physics A

Applied Physics A requests authors to include an “Author Contributions” statement in their submitted manuscripts. The statement should be placed at the end of the manuscript (near declarations), and should specify the type of contribution made by every co-author in the manuscript, in order to promote transparency.

For some examples of “Author Contribution (this opens in a new tab)” statements, please visit the “Authorship Principles” section in the submission guidelines. For example:

All authors contributed to the study conception and design. Material preparation, data collection and analysis were performed by [full name], [full name] and [full name]. The first draft of the manuscript was written by [full name] and all authors commented on previous versions of the manuscript. All authors read and approved the final manuscript.”
