  • Osmo Pekonen (April 2, 1960 — October 12, 2022)

Osmo Pekonen, the Mathematical Intelligencer’s longtime Reviews editor, died suddenly and unexpectedly on October 12, 2022, while on holiday in France. We will have an In Memoriam in an upcoming issue of the journal.

  • A New Look for the Intelligencer!

The Intelligencer is about to get a new look!  New masthead, new logo, new fonts, new colors . . . Because we have quite a number of things already published online, the rollout of the new design will necessarily be gradual.  Beginning with issue 44.1 (spring 2022), you’ll see the new masthead, the new format for the front matter, and the new style on any newly typeset articles/columns.  But everything in the old format that has already been published online will also appear in the old format in print. Over the course of the coming year, then, we shall see the journal transform itself before our very eyes, slowly taking on its new look from cover to cover!

We hope you will be as excited about the changes as we are!

    Karen, Sergei, and David
