Topic: The Earth tides constitute the leading thread to a series of topics in the field of Geodynamics, which shall be addressed in this special issue. Instrumentation sensitive enough to observe Earth Tides, also record a broad spectrum of signals generated by Earth dynamic processes that shall be discussed in this issue. We welcome manuscripts that range from theory, observations, to modelling, and to technological improvements in the observation methods. Both terrestrial and remote sensing observations, as derived from satellites or UAVs are welcome. Of special interest are the developments of Quantum instrumentation, as quantum gravimetry. Studies of geodetic observations and modeling of other planets also welcome.

The topics of interest belong to space geodesy, terrestrial and planetary geodesy, seismology, tectonophysics, hydrology, and geodynamics, demonstrating the interdisciplinarity needed for understanding the observations. In 2018 PAGEOPH has published a Special volume on a similar topic entitled “Geodynamics and Earth Tides observations from global to micro scale” (https://link.springer.com/journal/24/volumes-and-issues/175-5 (this opens in a new tab)) which was successful, gathering a volume of 22 publications.

Pure and Applied Geophysics has opened agreements for Open Access publishing with several institutions- you are invited to consult the homepage if your institution is listed.

The manuscript can be submitted starting July 15, 2021 and last submission shall be before 31 December 2021.

Accepted manuscripts are published immediately online first
