Experimental Brain Research - Join Experimental Brain Research as an Associate Editor (Neuropsychology)

Experimental Brain Research (this opens in a new tab) is recruiting a new Associate Editor to serve on the editorial team. We welcome applications from researchers with expertise in neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience and neurorehabilitation. 

Experimental Brain Research publishes original contributions on many aspects of experimental research of the central and peripheral nervous system. The scope of the journal encompasses neurophysiological mechanisms underlying sensory, motor, and cognitive functions in health and disease. This includes developmental, cellular, molecular, computational and translational neuroscience approaches.

Criteria
Successful candidates will be recognized as a leading member of experimental brain research community. They will have an outstanding publication record, an extensive global network and an appreciation for the diverse fields within the journal’s scope. 

Suitable candidates should:
•    have a minimum of fifty (50) research papers published in reputable, English language, peer-reviewed journals
•    be frequently listed as corresponding author (first or last author) during the last five years
•    have demonstrable expertise that fits within the scope of the journal.

Suitable candidates will also:
•    support the journal’s scope, editorial standards, and policies, and be a committed ambassador who will represent Experimental Brain Research within the scientific community;
•    provide a professional and supportive service to our authors and ensure that manuscripts they are responsible for fulfil the requirements of the journal and are handled efficiently and appropriately through peer-review.


Role and Responsibilities
The Associate Editor is primarily responsible for assessing manuscripts for their suitability for peer review, selecting suitable reviewers who meet the journal’s requirements and making final decisions on the basis of the peer reviewers’ reports and their own assessment while adhering to the journal’s editorial policies.   
An Associate Editor should be engaged and willing to handle a minimum of twelve (12) manuscripts per year across a range of topics within their subject area.

Associate Editors will receive training, and our in-house editorial team will also provide administrative support. The Associate Editors will report to the Editors-in-Chief of the journal and will be contracted by Springer Nature for a term of 2 years that may be consider for renewal upon satisfactory performance of all parties.
