Communications in Mathematical Physics - Cantor Medal awarded to Herbert Spohn

Congratulations!
Herbert Spohn, editor of the Journal of Statistical Physics as well as of Communications in Mathematical Physics, has been awarded with the Cantor Medal of the Deutsche Mathematiker Vereinigung DMV.

The Medal is the most significant scientific prize awarded every two years by the DMV. It comes with a sum of 4.000 Euro.

"Over the past 30 years, Herbert Spohn has always discovered surprising and profound mathematical connections between evolution processes in stochastics, analysis and mathematical physics that seemed completely different. His insights have deeply influenced the development of stochastical analysis, the theory of kinetic equations and mathematical physics."
The announcement was made in Berlin on February 12, 2014.
