Research in Engineering Design - Request for proposals for Editor-in-Chief Research in Engineering Design

We are announcing an open call for proposals for the position of Editor-in-Chief for our esteemed journal, Research in Engineering Design. As a leading publication in the field, we are seeking an experienced and visionary individual to lead the editorial team and further elevate the journal's impact in the academic community.

About the Journal: Research in Engineering Design has a rich history of publishing high-quality research in the interdisciplinary realm of engineering design. The journal serves as a platform for researchers to share innovative ideas, methodologies, and theories contributing to the advancement of the field. With a commitment to maintaining rigorous academic standards, the journal has established itself as a reputable source of scholarly information for over three decades.

Editor-in-Chief Profile: The Editor-in-Chief must be a highly reputable researcher in design as displayed by the publication record and conference appearances. The Editor-in-Chief's track record should include publications in major engineering design journals including Research in Engineering Design. The Editor-in-Chief should have excellent international connections.

Editor-in-Chief Responsibilities: The Editor-in-Chief will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the journal. Responsibilities include overseeing the editorial system and process, managing the peer review system, and ensuring the publication of timely and impactful content. The Editor-in-Chief will appoint editorial board members and collaborate with the editorial board to set the journal's vision and foster a supportive environment for authors and reviewers.

Proposal Requirements: Interested candidates are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal that outlines their vision for the journal and how they plan to fulfill the role of Editor-in-Chief. Proposals should address the following:

Editorial Vision: Provide a clear and compelling vision for the future of Research in Engineering Design and how you plan to enhance its standing in the academic community. This can include changes to the review process and editorial board structure and composition.
Editorial Experience: Highlight relevant editorial experience, including any involvement with other academic journals, editorial boards, or leadership roles. Describe potential conflicts with other editorial roles.
Innovative Strategies: Propose innovative strategies to attract high-quality submissions, engage with the research community, and improve the overall editorial process.
International Collaboration: Outline plans for fostering international collaborations and expanding the journal's global reach.
Commitment to Diversity: Describe how you plan to promote diversity in authorship, editorial board composition, and published content.
