No abstract, keywords, diagrams, footnotes and reference section are needed; if you feel references and footnotes would be essential to your argument, please limit yourself to one or two that would provide the richest supplement for the non-specialist.
Express why you care about this topic. Avoid writing burdened by academic language. Use active voice in place of passive voice. Be succinct. Be authentic, credible, and compelling.
