We program chairs for IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV) 2023 are excited to announce a special issue, in collaboration with Machine Vision and Applications journal (MVA), for the award finalist papers. The idea is to amplify the exposure of the award finalist papers, in recognition of their high quality, and provide a review process for their extended versions using this special issue.

WACV hosts premier meetings on computer vision applications, and MVA "features coverage of all applications and engineering aspects of image-related computing, including original contributions dealing with scientific, commercial, industrial, military, and biomedical applications of machine vision." Hence, this special issue intends to appeal to both communities and foster research synergy.
