Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology - Special Issue October- December 2021: "New Insights into Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Stress Response in Plants"

Drastic changes in seasonal and climatic conditions, increased incidence of diseases and pest attacks, and loss of soil fertility are a few immediate challenges that present-day agriculture is facing. To circumvent these stresses, plants have developed complex mechanisms that operate at different biological, molecular, and cellular levels to bring about the capability to withstand the stresses. Studies elucidating the mechanisms underlying stress regulatory networks will greatly benefit the research community to understand the processes associated with stress to catalyze future studies. Recognizing the importance of stress biology, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology has decided to bring out a special issue dedicated to Plant stress biology. This issue welcomes original research articles that delineate the physiological and developmental strategies employed by plants and their signalling and metabolic networks that operate in response to abiotic and biotic stresses at different developmental stages. Review articles highlighting the state-of-the-art studies in this area showing the current status of research as well as the future prospects are also welcome. Such articles should also emphasize the existing knowledge gap and how the advanced tools and approaches will help elucidate the strategies adopted by plants to overcome the stress leading to approaches to impart both biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in crop plants. This special issue will be jointly edited by Dr Manoj Prasad and Dr. Muthappa Senthil-Kumar.  We solicit research papers, short commentaries and reviews on all aspects of plant stress biology.

The last day for submission of all contributions to the special issue is 30th September, 2021. The accepted manuscripts will be published in the October-December 2021 issue of the journal.
