Journal of Remanufacturing - Special Issue by invitation only: Digital Product Passport (DPP) for Remanufacturing, Zero Defect Remanufacturing, Emerging Remanufacturing Technologies, Artificial Intelligence

This Special Issue is a collaboration between the World Remanufacturing Summit and Journal of Remanufacturing. The summit focus on discussions on key topics like implications of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) for Remanufacturing, Zero Defect Remanufacturing, Emerging Remanufacturing Technologies, Artificial Intelligence in remanufacturing and many others, across multiple industrial sectors. The goal of the summit is to foster new circular business models by bridging the gap between the scientific and industrial communities, also involving public institutions and clusters in the discussion, thus promoting an open and inclusive dialogue.

This Special Issue seeks to establish a collaborative platform for researchers from various academic domains worldwide, including manufacturing, operations research, system engineering, environmental engineering, economics, and other interdisciplinary fields. The overarching goal is to promote the implementation of manufacturing planning methods, hence driving the transition to a circular economy. The Special Issue welcomes submissions on, but not limited to, the following topics:
• Smart and digital remanufacturing
• Emerging technologies and disassembly automation
• In-line inspection and characterization
• Zero defect remanufacturing
• Artificial intelligence for remanufacturing
• New business models
• Product design for remanufacturing
• Legislation and standardization
• Implications of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) for the remanufacturing industry
• Social implications and awareness
