Professor Turgay Ertekin,

“The Journal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology (JPEPT) in 2020 is proudly celebrating its tenth year in circulation. During the last decade, The JPEPT’s wide thematic coverage areas have included a broad range of upstream and midstream related topics of fossil energy resources including exploration, characterization and development strategies of underground reservoirs, drilling and production related technologies, and thematic topics comprising storage and transmission related know-hows.”
Turgay Ertekin received his B.Sc (1969) and M. Sc.(1971) degrees from the Middle East Technical University and did his PhD at Penn State between 1975 and 1978. In December 1978 he joined Penn State’s Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering program as a faculty member. For 30 years between 1984 and 2014, he served as the Chair of the PNGE Program. In 2013 he became the Head of the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering. During his academic career at Penn State, his research efforts with his graduate students have produced 57 Ph.D. and 111 M.S. theses. He is the author/coauthor of seven books and five book chapters and more than 300 publications. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, American Institute of Engineering Education and Chamber of Petroleum Engineers of Turkey.
