International Journal of System Assurance Engineering and Management - Call for Papers: Special Issue on 'Advances in Systems Assurance Engineering - Enhancing Safety, Reliability, and Maintenance for Sustainable Operations'

The intersection of safety, reliability, and maintenance represents a crucial association that can drive sustainable development initiatives across various sectors and industries. Organizations and policymakers can establish comprehensive and successful solutions using state-of-the-art technologies (e.g., Industry 4.0/5.0) that advance systems assurance engineering and support long-term socioeconomic development. 

Systems assurance engineering adheres to a comprehensive risk management framework aimed at ensuring the safety, reliability, and quality of products, processes, and systems. Organizations can reduce risks, avert accidents, and protect people, property, and the environment by incorporating system assurance approaches and safety principles throughout the life cycle of a system.Reliability is another key aspect of systems assurance engineering that focuses on the successful performance of intended functions under specified conditions for a predefined period. To ensure safety as well as reliability. Maintenance plays a crucial role. In safety parlance, maintenance is considered to be an important risk control system (RCS).

In recent years, there has been a surge in the research activities in the area of system assurance engineering aimed at advanced techniques, methodologies, and practices to enhance the safety, reliability, and maintainability of complex systems, ensuring their performance, resilience, and sustainability in diverse operating conditions. Thus, knowledge dissemination is necessary for all the stakeholders. Collaborative partnerships between government agencies, industry organizations, and academic institutions can facilitate knowledge sharing, capacity building, and innovation in system assurance engineering. With this motivation, the international conference on ‘Safety Health Analytics-Driven Governance for Sustainable Development (SHADG 2024)’ was organized to unite stakeholders from various sectors. A special issue in the International Journal of System Assurance Engineering and Management is proposed for publishing the relevant papers from the SHADG 2024 (and also others) that focus on the research areas within the journal’s scope.
