OMEP is an international, non-governmental and non-profit organisation with Consultative Status at the United Nations and UNESCO. Founded in 1948, it defends and promotes the rights of the child to education and care worldwide and support activities which improve accessibility to higher quality education and care. OMEP is currently the oldest and the largest international organisation focusing on early childhood, with about 70 member countries worldwide.
