Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences - About the Society

New Content ItemThe Korean Meteorological Society (KMS), founded in 1963, is a scientific community that serves the members’ activities in various fields of meteorology and atmospheric sciences, including atmospheric dynamics, modeling, climatology, and applied meteorology. Through fostering the cooperation in research and sharing useful data not only among members but scientists in the Asia-Pacific region, the KMS contributes to expanding the knowledge of atmospheric sciences and applying the understanding to solve social problems.

Major Activities

  • Organize conferences, symposium, workshop, and training courses.
  • Publish the journals, the “Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences” (APJAS) in English, and the “Atmosphere” in Korean (some in English).
  • Conduct research projects, and promote meetings for those who have interest in sharing and advancing the knowledge of atmospheric sciences.
