Call for applications for the position of Editor at SPPE

The journal Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology (SPPE) is seeking to expand its board of Editors and invites applications for the role of Editor to the journal.

Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology is intended to provide a medium for the prompt publication of scientific contributions concerned with all aspects of the epidemiology of psychiatric disorders - social, biological and genetic. In addition, the journal has a particular focus on the effects of social conditions upon behaviour and the relationship between psychiatric disorders and the social environment. Contributions may be of a clinical nature provided they relate to social issues, or they may deal with specialised investigations in the fields of social psychology, sociology, anthropology, epidemiology, health service research, health economies or public mental health. We will publish papers on cross-cultural and trans-cultural themes. Related fields of interest to the journal are social psychology, sociology, anthropology, epidemiology health service research, health economies, and social administration.

As Editor of the journal, you would support SPPE with your expertise and engagement, e.g., by being responsible for steering the peer review process of manuscripts in your area of expertise and supporting the Editor-in-Chief in the review process. The journal’s Editors are supported by a Scientific Advisory Board which contributes to conducting reviews of papers submitted to the journal. You would also be encouraged to provide input on the direction of the journal by participating in the annual Editors’ meeting and on other matters as they may arise. We also welcome your regularly acquiring individual articles or organizing special or focused issues or topical collections on emerging topics. Editors serve on the board for an initial term of three years, with the option of renewing for another term or terms.

If you are interested in applying, please submit your Curriculum Vitae and a letter of application outlining your motivation and relevant expertise or experience. Please send your application materials by email to Patricia Wiley (patricia.wiley ‘at’
