Environmental Earth Sciences - Why publish in Environmental Earth Sciences

What is the journal about?

The journal is dedicated to promote results of scientific research on environmental sciences and geosciences. Of particular interest are reasons and assessment of environmental impacts caused by natural processes and/or anthropogenic interference. Areas coping with environmental problems are of particular interest as well. The journal promotes open Topical Collections on related and emerging research themes in environmental earth sciences (but not conference proceedings).

What has to be considered before applying?

We strongly invite novel research works related to the journal’s scope. Before you submit your work to EES, please make sure that the research has not been published in other journals nor is currently under consideration elsewhere. All manuscripts undergo standard plagiarism tests; submission with too many similarities to existing literature (including previous own works) will be returned to the authors.

Any manuscript should contain the state-of-the-art of science, i.e. the existing knowledge in the field and the context for better understanding the posed research question under investigation. Literature discussion should contain international literature. Papers with local meaning only or many self-citations might be better suited for regional journals.

What does ‘environmental’ mean?

The category “environmental” is closely connected to the term Earth systems, i.e. the interrelation between geosystems as well as natural processes and/or anthropogenic interference is in the focus of the journal.

Articles submitted to the journal should by all means cover both environmental aspects and those of interference with the solid earth.
