Waste and Biomass Valorization - Special Issue: Bio-wastes based catalysts as powerful tools to energy and wastewater treatment and monitoring

Paying attention to the pollutants in surface and underground water sources is a sensitive issue in recent years. The need to measure all types of pollutants is very important and necessary to check water purification methods. Purification of existing water sources using catalysts and adsorbents is one of the important water treatment strategies. On the other hand, the use of renewable resources is an important source of energy for human needs. The lack of energy and the effort to move from fossil fuels to clean sources has been considered as a vital issue in recent years. Today, Bio-wastes based catalysts are proposed as suitable catalysts with high performance for the design of sensitive adsorbents energy preparation and measuring sensors. Bio-wastes based catalysts are of interest to many researchers in the fields of energy, environment, and sensors due to their high biocompatibility and reuse of natural resources. This special issue focuses on the application of Bio-wastes based catalysts in water treatment and monitoring processes to improve current advanced technologies. Recent advances in Bio-wastes based catalysts are also the focus of this special issue. Both critical reviews and research articles are welcome in this special issue.

Specific topics to be covered in the special issue include but are not limited to:

  • Synthesis of new catalysts by Bio-wastes and application of them in water treatment
  • Synthesis of new catalysts by Bio-wastes and application of them in monitoring
  • Theoretical study on the Bio-wastes systems
