New Content Item (3)MAPAN Journal team is proud to share that Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Sanjay Yadav has been awarded APMP Award for Developing Economies for year 2020. Dr Yadav has made a significant contribution to the development of metrology and metrologists within India and the SAARC region. His contribution includes developing technical capabilities in mass and related quantities, dissemination of metrological expertise via training and event organisation, and the establishment of externally funded metrology projects. His brilliant contributions to pressure and water flow standards is shown by many published papers in this field.

Dr. Sanjay Yadav, born in 1962, obtained his Master degree in science (M.Sc.) in 1985 and Ph.D. degree in Physics in 1990. He joined Pressure and Vacuum Standards Group of CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi, India as Scientist during 1995. Presently, he is working as Senior Principal Scientist and Head, Physico Mechanical Metrology Division of CSIR-NPL, India. He is also working as Head, Pressure, Vacuum and Ultrasonic Metrology Section of CSIR-NPL, India, Dr. Yadav worked more than 7 years as Project Officer in Science and Technology Department, Haryana Government for the implementation of various rural development programmes. He has more than 350 research publications to his credit in national and international journals of repute, conferences and books; 7 copyrights, patents, technologies and knowhow’s, some of which have been commercialized. He has also successfully participated and contributed in various international key comparisons for the compatibility, equivalence and global visibility of the standards. He has also coordinated 7 proficiency-testing programmes sponsored by NABL, India involving more than 100 NABL accredited laboratories. He is also significantly contributing in academic activities, working as Professor, AcSIR, India in Faculty of Physical Sciences, teaching the advanced metrology course to PhD students since 2012, supervised / supervising many graduate/master students for their thesis and project works, guided/guiding several doctoral thesis in metrology He is the recipient of research scholarships from Ministry of Home Affairs, India (1986); CSIR, India (1988); Col. G.N. Bajpayee Award of Institution of Engineers, India (1989); Commendation Certificates from Haryana Government (1992 & 1993); JICA Fellowship of JAPAN (1998) and Commendation Certificates from SASO, Saudi Arabia (2003). He is also working as Editor-in-Chief of MAPAN-Journal of Metrology Society of India since year 2016. He has been nominated as Member of APMP Technical Committee of mass related quantities (TCM) (2013-2020); nominated as Country Representative in APMP (2019); Members, Standards Advisory Committee, BIS (2019); nominated as member representative in National Advisory committee of NCERT (2020) and elected as Vice President of Metrology Society of India (2020). He is Fellow/Member of Metrology Society of India, Ultrasonic Society of India, Instrument Society of India, Vigyan Bharti, etc. He has visited LNE, France (1998, 2014); National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) and National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan (1998-99); National Measurement and Calibration Centre (NMCL) and Saudi Arabia Standards Organization (SASO), Saudi Arabia (2003); National Metrology Institute (KIM-LIPI) of Indonesia (2014); Bhutan Standards Bureau (BSB), Bhutan (2016) and SIRIM, NMI of Malaysia (2017) on official deputations.

Dr. Yadav’s visionary outlook, out of box thinking and leadership qualities had been very much instrumental in bringing MAPAN Journal to the pinnacle of glory. The entire MAPAN journal team is very glad and fortunate to work under the dynamic leadership of such a visionary and eminent scientist, researcher and a dynamic Editor-in-Chief.
