International Journal of Advances in Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics - Upcoming Special Issue: From Classical to Chaotic Dynamics

Dynamics has a long and rich history. Standing on the shoulders of giants like Galileo, Newton, Euler, Lagrange, Hamilton, Poincare, Arnold, Zienckiewicz and Marsden, to name a few, the classical area has progressed in leaps and bounds over the centuries.  Remarkable development has been achieved in the analytical, experimental and computational aspects of dynamics. Generations of physicists, mathematicians and engineers have actively contributed to the development of various aspects of this field. Despite the rich history of this area, there are several active areas of work both on the foundational and application aspects of the subject. As we approach the Tricentenary of Newton’ death, we dedicate this special issue of the International Journal of Advances in Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics to Dynamics.

Original research papers, review and pedagogical articles in the broad field of Dynamics are invited. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas : -

Linear and nonlinear dynamical systems with engineering applications

Dynamics and control of mechanical systems

Rigid & Flexible Multi-body dynamics

Numerical and Symbolic Computational Dynamics

Dynamics of periodic structures/ Lattice materials/ meta-materials

Fluid-structure interaction Structural health monitoring

Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence applied to problems in dynamics of engineering systems

Structural Dynamics, includes structural wave propagation and its engineering applications

Stochastic Dynamics Experimental Methods in Dynamics

Dynamics in Biological systems.
